Week 8: 21 Hayes at Absinthe

Damrak Gin muddled with cucumber, a splash of Pimm’s No. 1, lemon-lime and simple syrup

The cocktail was created to provide relief to riders of Muni's 21 bus; I strongly believe that it never fails.  I think of the cocktail as a more virile version of the Pimm's Cup, but just as delicious.

Week 5: The Last Word at Cafe des Amis

Damrak gin, green chartreuse, Luxardo maraschino, lime, sugar

The menu states that this is a prohibition-era cocktail first served at the Detroit Athletic Club.  The herbaceous flavor from the chartreuse is definitely the main player in this cocktail.  

Week 4: The Darb at Comstock Saloon

Equal parts gin, dry vermouth, apricot brandy, and a few dashes of lemon juice

We went to Comstock on one of the hottest days in San Francisco in recent memory with temperatures still in the mid 80's at 8pm.  The Darb was perfect -- not too sweet, and super refreshing.
